Whether you have a pedigree cat that could win best in show or simply share a love for all things feline, the 45th annual Cambridge cat show has something for everyone.

On May 25 and 26, cat enthusiasts from the US and Canad will come together at the Dickson Centre Arena to show off their furry friends, exchange breeding tips and learn more about cat culture.

"This is a really good way for those who are experienced with cats or those who just have them as pets to come together and just learn more about different breeds and how to raise them," said Ashley Reeson, regional director for the Canadian Cat Association.

Over two days, the Cat Fanciers Association and the Canadian Cat Association will each host their own events, both with competitions, breeders and vendors.

Reeson said breeders from the United States and Canada will be bringing exotic and uncommon pet breeds to Cambridge, giving people an opportunity to meet and pet these rare cats.

"We have some breeders bringing popular ones like the Bengals, Sphynx and Devon Rex just to name a few," she said.

There will be over 100 cats in attendance as pedigreed, non-pedigreed and rescue cats all compete to become best in show.

At the Sunday show, there will also be a fundraiser being held for a few local cat charities that will also be on-site with kittens and cats who are up for adoption and offer awareness to pet owners.

Vendors selling cat-themed items, toys and food will line the arena as judging takes place front and centre.

"These events are also good to show people that there are good breeders out there who care about the cats, take time to see which family they will go to and truly care," added Reeson.

"It's really a family event for everyone to come down to and meet some cute cats and find others who share the same passion."

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $7 for children and seniors, and $25 for families.
