Local COVID update shows decline in hospitalizations, one new death

There were 203 new cases reported in the past week, the active caseload slipped to 251, and 218 more cases were deemed resolved.

The weekly COVID-19 update for Waterloo Region has been released and one more related death has been confirmed. 

There have been 506 COVID-related deaths in the region since the onset of the pandemic.

The update showed that COVID-related hospitalizations are declining with 24 admissions reported. ICU admissions have increased from last week, with that total rising from two to four.

Active outbreaks increased by one overall with ten remaining in effect. You can find the complete list of outbreaks on the region's dashboard.
