Branch History
In 1916, the veterans of the Town of Preston joined an organization called the Great War Veterans Association. It was one of many that were formed across the country to assist the returning veterans and their dependents.

They purchased the building located at 506 King Street, Preston, and it was used until after the war. At that time, the membership increased greatly in volume and they had to look for other facilities.

In 1947 , they purchased the present building from the Air Force at Port Albert, Ontario. The building was transported in sections and erected on this site by the members of this branch. It should be noted that all of their time was donated. The land for the building was donated by Clare Brothers.
