Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region brings communities together to help families build strength, stability and independence through affordable home ownership.

Building Homes & Better Futures
Founded in 1988, Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region is a charitable organization working toward a world where everyone has a decent place to live. In Waterloo Region, 1 in 4 households lacks a decent, affordable place to live making them at risk of falling into a cycle of poverty. Our model of affordable homeownership bridges a gap for lower-income, working families by providing them with the opportunity to purchase their own Habitat home.

Affordable Housing For Everyone
With wages not keeping pace to steep rises in housing and rent in Waterloo Region, families are struggling more than ever with affordable homeownership. Housing is considered affordable if it costs less than 30% of your income. In Waterloo Region, 1 in 4 households lacks a decent, affordable place to live making them at risk of falling into a cycle of poverty. That is why Habitat Waterloo Region partners with lower-income families to help them build strength, stability, and independence through affordable homeownership.

Setup For Success
By putting families into a position where they can thrive, Habitat Waterloo Region helps to combat the ongoing housing crisis, one home at a time. Through reduced reliance on social housing and food banks, better education and employment outcomes, and improved health, every Habitat home built benefits the local community.
