Golf tournament has raised more than $336,000 in four years for Oak Bridge Academy.

Oak Bridge Academy is holding its fifth fundraising golf tournament since opening its doors in 2018.

“In the current educational system, students with exceptionalities, like autism, are often left behind, feeling sad, alone, misunderstood, and anxious," said Oak Bridge principal Kathie Shaw in a release.

"Their abilities can go unseen, and their needs go unmet. At Oak Bridge Academy, we have created a place where these students' unique needs and abilities are seen and valued; a place where they can finally, truly belong and succeed.”

The tournament has raised more than $336,000 in four years. Funds raised will be used to support school programs, supplies and student initiatives, the release added.

Oak Bridge Academy is a small, not-for-profit, independent school which offers a unique learning environment to students with exceptional learning needs.

"Oak Bridge Academy supports the whole-child, framed under the philosophy of evidence-based practice. Oak Bridge Academy strives to have strong connections with students, grounded in a growth mindset and strengths-based approach. Academic,
social and emotional regulation, skill-building and goal setting are an integral part of the program," the release said.

More information about Oak Bridge Academy is available on the organization's website.

The tournament is June 6 at the Whistle Bear Golf Club, 1316 Settlement Road, Cambridge.
