The amazing accomplishments of our business community took the spotlight at the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business Excellence Awards.

Held in-person for the first time since 2019 due to the pandemic, the awards were presented in front of approximately 300 business leaders and officials at Tapestry Hall on Thursday, May 26.

“It’s great to be able to celebrate the achievements of our local businesses again in-person after two years of hosting the event virtually,” said Cambridge Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Greg Durocher. “This event not only boosted morale but showed them how much we rely on their commitment to our community, especially over the course of the last two years.”

The Chamber’s adjudicating committee met in April to review more than 60 nominations to select the recipients in nine categories, as well as selecting the recipient of the prestigious Chair’s Award from among those nominees.

Selecting which business or individual will take home an award is never an easy task, says Durocher.

“So many businesses have accomplished a great deal in the past year, picking just a handful is very difficult,” he says. “But our committee was up to the challenge and analyzed the nominations very closely.”

The Business Excellence Awards is the Chamber’s premier event and has honoured the contributions and achievements of business leaders since 2000.

“It’s always a great night to not only recognize the resiliency of our business community but it’s also a nice way to offer our appreciation for all that they do in making our region a great place to live and conduct business,” says Durocher.

The recipients were selected to recognize the achievements of organizations and entrepreneurs in Cambridge and Township of North Dumfries who have made outstanding contributions in the past year.
