Cambridge community gardens beginning to show signs of life

City of Cambridge community gardens are cultivated by community residents that have assigned plots at any of the 10 locations.

The City of Cambridge has 10 community garden locations in its neighbourhoods.

According to the city's website, the gardens are permitted to be open in Cambridge and across the region.

There are minimal costs associated for residents that wish to cultivate a plot. Produce from some of the gardens is donated to the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank and other local organizations that support vulnerable populations. One such location is the Water Tower Gardens, where Rick Weber, of Elmira, and Stephen Allt, of Kitchener, two volunteers with the 519 Community Collective were busy Saturday morning lowering the plots to make them accessible.
