Cambridge has a new way to get around as e-scooters hit the streets

Cambridge now has a new alternative way of transportation in the downtown Galt area with over 20 e-scooters and e-bikes

Cambridge residents now have the option of hopping on an e-scooter or e-bike to get around Galt.

The Region of Waterloo has partnered with Neuron Mobility to offer nearly 500 e-bikes and 500 e-scooters across the region.

In Cambridge there are around 20 e-scooters and 3 e-bikes.

All riders need to do is download the Neuron app, connect a method of payment, scan the QR code on the scooter and ride.

All vehicles are equipped with helmets and cost $1.15 to unlock and are .35 cents per minute of use. Three-day and monthly rates will also be offered.

There are no physical stations, but the app provides a map where an available vehicle can be found to ride. When riders are done, they end the trip on their phone, click back in the helmet and leave it parked in one of the dozens of virtual parking spots around the city.
