The playground in Lincoln Park on South Street in Galt is one of three playgrounds scheduled to be replaced by the city over the next month.

The city is asking for patience as it works to replace playground equipment in three parks throughout the city this month.

The playground equipment at Lincoln Park, Gail St. Park, and at Northview Heights Park were assessed last year to determine all three need to be replaced due to age and condition.

"We ask for your patience as the old equipment is removed and the site preparations takes place before the installations. All are planned to be completed over the coming few weeks," the city said in a press release.

"Playground users are reminded to respect all playground closures during the replacement work and to keep out of the fenced enclosures for their safety."

The new playgrounds will be opened when all fencing is removed and they are fully inspected and approved for use.

New park benches and garbage receptacles will be installed along with the new apparatus.

The city is also working to install a fourth new playground on Linden Drive.

That playground includes junior and senior equipment as well as some accessible play components, the city says.

It will be inter-connected with pathways through the park and have bench seating.

The city says it maintains more than 70 playgrounds across the city.
