Jack Reacher is coming to Cambridge this week for a one-day film shoot on Blackbridge Road in Hespeler.

The character, based on the popular book series by Lee Child, is being rebooted for an Amazon television series from Skydance Productions. Tom Cruise starred in a 2012 film version that was followed by a 2016 sequel, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.

The Amazon series stars Alan Ritchson in the titular role.

Ritchson has appeared in a number of films and television shows, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Hunger Games Catching Fire, and the tv show Titans.

Production in Ontario began in April and is set to wrap on July 22.

Filming will involve the closure of Blackbridge Road from Baldwin Avenue to Townline Road all day Friday and involve some filming at night.

Basecamp for the filming will begin June 30 at the Hespeler Arena.

Paid duty officers from Waterloo Regional Police Service will be on set to ensure public safety.

One lane traffic flow will be maintained for emergency vehicles throughout the shoot.
