Galt Country Club general manager killed in motorcycle collision

Galt Country Club general manager Brian Jolley was killed Tuesday while riding his motorcycle north of Guelph.

Wellington OPP said officers responded to the scene on Highway 6 and Wellington Road 38 around 8:45 p.m. after reports came in about a motorcycle colliding with a sedan.

On Friday, police said Jolley, 47, from Fergus, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The operator of the sedan was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The roadway was closed for several hours. The Wellington County OPP and the Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team continue to investigate.

News of Jolley's death reached the club Thursday, leading to a post on Instagram to inform members and the public.

"It is with profound sadness that we must inform you of the passing of our General Manager Brian Jolley," reads the post.

"Brian was such an important part of our GCC family and he will be missed more than words can describe."

Dozens of people who knew Jolley from the club and in the community expressed condolences on social media after hearing the news.
