Premier Doug Ford will address Ontarians for the first time in a week today in what is expected to be an announcement regarding the government’s latest plan to reopen the province.

Currently, the provincial stay-at-home order is in place until June 2.

Ontario notified media this morning that Ford would be holding a press conference this afternoon alongside Health Minister Christine Elliott and Dr. David Williams, Ontario’s chief medical officer of health.

Radio-Canada is reporting this morning that the 3 p.m. announcement will be an update to the province’s reopening plan.

The reopening plan came up briefly yesterday during a press conference with Solicitor General Sylvia Jones who was asked about reopening during the question period. She said the government was still working on it.

The province has already stated that Ontario won’t be returning to the colour-coded framework as part of the latest reopening strategy.

Village Media will be carrying the livestream this afternoon.
