A pedestrian was rushed to hospital around 5:30 p.m. Monday after being struck by a pick-up truck on Water Street in front of the Food Basics.
The collision shut down Water from Park Hill Road to Dickson Street.
Police told CambridgeToday the incident is under investigation, but confirmed one person was transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.
An eyewitness who saw the crash was visibly distressed as she tried to recount what she had seen.
"I just saw someone get hit by a truck," said the eyewitness who asked to remain anonymous. "I've never seen something like that so I am just a bit shaken up."
More information is expected from police later.
