Pets will be taking over Central Park to raise money for the Cambridge & District Humane Society on Saturday.

Furry friends will be welcomed to Central Park in Preston to have their picture taken on May 27.

With a $5 donation to the Cambridge & District Humane Society, residents will receive a professional photo, a pet-friendly goodie bag from Healthy Pet Cambridge, sweet treats for both animals and their owners courtesy of Cake Lovers Unite and a ballot to be entered into a grand prize draw to win a $50 gift card from both Healthy Pet Cambridge and Cake Lovers Unite.

The humane society will be on-site with information about its services.

The organization has united over 25,000 animals with their forever homes and provide a number of services to the community, from adoption and daily animal care to end of life support.

Each year approximately $72,000 is spent on veterinary medicine, emergency surgery, spays and neuters and various medical procedures.

All pets are welcome but they must be leashed or otherwise contained.

The event will run from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. and is being organized by The Melissa Francis Team, RE/MAX Twin City Realty Inc., Brokerage.
