NEWS RELEASE

REGION OF WATERLOO

*************************

For the next few weeks, the Cambridge Pinebush vaccination clinic has a supply of both the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, making it a family-friendly location for adults wanting their second dose of Moderna, and for youth requiring a first or second dose of Pfizer.

For adults who are eligible for their second dose, getting whatever vaccine is available has always been more important than waiting for a particular brand of vaccine as both mRNA vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer) are interchangeable. While both vaccines are available at Cambridge Pinebush, there is currently an opportunity for those 18+ to get a second dose of the same vaccine they received for their first dose.

As the vaccine rollout continues to evolve, the Langs Ayr and Cambridge Pinebush Family Health Team vaccination clinics are closed and will not be reopening for second-doses. Those who attended these locations for a first dose of Moderna are welcome to go to Cambridge Pinebush for their second dose.

Anyone in the community who is 12+ is encouraged to get their second dose as long as it has been at least 28 days since their first dose of Moderna or Pfizer. Find a vaccination clinic on the Region of Waterloo website: Clinic locations and information.

Walk-ins for first and second doses are welcome at Cambridge Pinebush (9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.), and all regional vaccination clinics.

Vaccines are also available at many family doctors’ offices (for their patients) and pharmacies.

Make it a summer priority to get fully vaccinated. If you haven’t yet had a first dose, get it this week and you’ll be eligible for your second dose before the end of August.
