Cambridge's Joseph Serpa and three draft picks have been dealt to the Oshawa Generals for overage defenceman Lleyton Moore.

The Kitchener Rangers have traded Cambridge native Joseph Serpa to the Oshawa Generals.

In return, the Rangers receive veteran defenceman Lleyton Moore. London's second-round pick in the 2024 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection, London's third-round pick in 2025 and Kitchener's eighth-round pick in 2025 also head to Oshawa as part of the deal.

The Rangers were the only team Serpa had ever known in his junior hockey career. After putting up 40 points in 33 games for the Cambridge Hawks U16 AAA team during the 2017-2018 season, Serpa played nine games for the blueshirts the following season after being their fourth round pick in 2018.

He made the full-time jump to the OHL during the 2019-2020 COVID-19 shortened season, putting up 14 points in 50 games.

Last season he had his best statistical campaign to date, amassing 69 points in 62 games and adding 15 more in 12 playoff games.

The overager has 10 goals and 10 assists in 25 games this season.
