SPECTRUM hosting Fundraising Gala in Waterloo Region

A comedy show will highlight the event taking place in Kitchener.

SPECTRUM, an organization that serves, affirms, and supports the well-being of 2SLGBTQ+ people in Waterloo Region, will be hosting their second annual fundraising gala on June 29.

Hosted at the Ken Sealing Waterloo Region Museum, the gala will help raise funds to support programs and services for 2SLGBTQIA+ people in the region.

The event will be headlined by Martha Chaves, a Nicaraguan-Canadian comedian, actress, activist and playwright. 

Award-winning playwright, performer, fragrance aficionado Robert Watson will serve as the MC for the night.

Comedians Al Val and Tamara Shevon will also be part of the show, with dinner being served by B Elegant Catering.

SPECTRUM is attempting to hit a $25,000 fundraising goal for the event.

The organization supports residents of Cambridge through various events and programs, including its Transgender Peer Support Group that meets biweekly at the Old Post Office Idea Exchange location at 12 Water St S.
