VIDEO CP Holiday Train rolls into Cambridge

CP Holiday Train comes to town to help raise money for the Cambridge Food Bank

Ho ho holiday train is here, the CP Holiday Train comes to town.

As the weather got colder and the snow started to fall, creating a mini winter wonderland, the holiday train rolled into Cambridge on Wednesday afternoon.

For the 24th year, CP has partnered with local food banks to raise money and food donations for the holiday season. Cambridge Food Bank donor development manager, Sarah Tooze, said this year they are expected to get hundreds of pounds of food.

"We have definitely seen an uptick of people using the food bank this year, but we are greatful for events like this to help during the busy holiday season," said Tooze.

CP also presented the food bank with a $7,000 cheque.

The train came in decorated in thousands of lights and displays and when the train car door dropped, Jojo Mason and his band put on a show to get everyone in the holiday spirit.

At the event, Mr. and Mrs. Claus and their sidekick Willy Melt Snowman were there to take pictures with the kids and help sing those Christmas classics.

When leaving the Galt railway station, the train put in one final show as it crossed the Grand River bridge.

Cars stopped and lined Riverbluffs and Dickson parks to get one last look at the dazzling light display.
