Waterloo airport bomb threat was a hoax, Mississauga man charged

Police say investigation found there were no explosives found on the plane

As a result of the investigation into the bomb threat at Region of Waterloo International Airport, police have arrested and charged a 28-year-old Mississauga male. 

Through investigation, police determined there were no explosives found on the plane. 

Operations at the airport were interrupted for several hours as police and airport staff cleared the plane. 

The male was charged with uttering threats to cause death and mischief - interfere with operation of property. 

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing. 

The investigation is ongoing by members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s General Investigations Unit.
