Cambridge residents can close out September and enter October by attending one of several events around the city this weekend

Music, food and a festival highlight a weekend full of activities around Cambridge.

Friday, Sept. 30

Orange Shirt Day vigil

Cambridge Sculpture Garden, 53 Grand Ave. S., 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.

A chance for residents of the city to reflect and remember on the second National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

There will be Indigenous songs and drumming and guest speakers, including Charity Fleming, from Qualia Counselling Services, an Indigenous counselling service in Cambridge, providing an opportunity to advance reconciliation efforts in the community.  

#WalkQueen in Hespeler Village

15 Queen St. E., 3 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Join a celebration of Hespeler's unique village district. Musical performances, food and games are all part of the experience.

Hespeler Village Farmers’ Market

11 Tannery St. E., 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Kids activities, entertainment and local food is all part of the experience at the Hespeler Village Farmers’ Market.

 

Saturday, Oct. 1

Cambridge Farmers' Market 

40 Dickson St., 7 a.m. - 1 p.m.

A central community food hub, the market features 26 year-round vendors and 30 seasonal vendors.

A Titanic Tea at the Fashion History Museum

74 Queen Street E., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Residents can experience a re-creation of the tea served on the Titanic on April 14, 1912. It will coincide with the launch of the book Unsinkable Lucile by Hugh Brewster with illustrations by Laurie McGaw. Tickets are $25 and are available here.

Cambridge Bee City Festival

251 George Street, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Those in attendance will learn about what pollinator ecology projects are underway in the city, how our gardeners have embraced the pollinator challenge and how you too can create pollinator habitat.

Live instrumental folk music will also be part of the free festivities.

Hespeler Street Jam

Queen Street East near Guelph Avenue, 12 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Skateboarders will take to Queen Street in support of Hespeler Needs a Skatepark.

The Moto Social Night Market

310 Holiday Inn Dr., 2 p.m. - 10 p.m.

An indie, night market with Blackbridge Harley Davidson and Apex Cycle that features 20+ vendors, food trucks and live performances from The Darcys and KVNE.

#WalkQueen in Hespeler Village

15 Queen St. E., 3 p.m. - 11 p.m.

 

Sunday, Oct. 2

Old Post Office tours

12 Water Street South, 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.

Residents can tour the old post office filled with resources and activities.

Galt Jazz

Downtown Cambridge, 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Live music will ring through lower Main Street in Galt.
