Friday, May 26

To Build What We Become When We Dream

Queen’s Square Idea Exchange - 1 North Square, all day

This art exhibition, curated by Sarah-Tai Black and featuring Katrina Coombs, Nnenna Okore and Chason Yeboah, brings together Black artists and celebrates their work. Runs all weekend.

The Mom Project

Preston Idea Exchange - 435 King St. E, All day

Come view a collection of small oil on board portraits by Mark Crofton Bell. Paintings of his mother during the final years of her life shine a light on the process of aging, physical and mental deterioration, and death. Runs all weekend.

Wandering and Traces (Hespeler)

Hespeler Idea Exchange - 5 Tannery St E, all day

View the solo exhibition from Toronto-based artists Amanda McCavour.

Cambridge Kin Carnival

Riverside Park - 49 King St W, all weekend

Head down to the park for food, carnival rides and vendors. Admission is free but proceeds from ride passes support community groups and services.

Preston Book Club

Preston Idea Exchange - 435 King St E, 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

This group meets monthly to discuss a set title. May’s book is When She Woke by Hilary Jordan.

Connections 50+

Queen’s Square Idea Exchange - 1 North Square, 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Make connections with other adults while taking part in concerts, crafting, chats and more.

Roller Skating at Galt Arena Gardens

Galt Arena Gardens - 98 Shade St, 7 p.m.

Strap on the skates with Retro Rollers for a night of nostalgia.

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical

Hamilton Family Theatre - 46 Grand Ave S, 7:30 p.m.

Take in the story of Carole King’s rise from teenage songwriter to the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer. Shows run throughout the weekend. Tickets can be purchased here.

Karaoke with Ky!

Wave Maker Brewery - 639 Laurel St, 8 p.m.

Show of your singing skills and enjoy a craft beer.

Karaoke Friday at Gator's Tail

Saturday, May 27

Cambridge Farmers' Market

40 Dickson St, 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

A central community food hub, the market features 26 year round vendors and 30 seasonal vendors. Kids Mother's Day crafts and a free treat for mom’s will be available.

Cambridge Homeless Cat Rescue Garage Sale

328 Margaret St., 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Look through glassware, decor, holiday decorations, tools, purses, books, toys, media items and more. Cash only. All proceeds help homeless cats with medical care, fostering costs and spay and neuters.

Toronto Cat Rescue - KW Chapter Yard Sale

18 Woolley St., 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Find affordable items and support cats in need.

Golden Triangle Cat Fanciers Cat Show

Galt Arena Gardens, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tickets $7 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under and $5 for seniors as well as students who provide identification. Donations accepted for Cambridge Humane Society.

Planting Day

Preston Idea Exchange - 435 King St E, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Learn about gardening and the Preston Seed Library while planting in the community garden.

Public Works Open House

1310 Bishop Street, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Meet city staff who work in the Infrastructure Services department and get up and close with equipment displays. Photos, the chance to paint a plow, face painting, giveaways and a sweet treat will all be part of the free event. Donations to the food bank are appreciated.

Cornhole Tournaments!

After a break, Jeremy Brubacher & Friends are back. Come out for a night to celebrate the cancer survival story of Jeremy Brubacher. Music, food and drinks will all be available.
