Ezra Silva was the first baby of the year in Cambridge Memorial Hospital. He was born on Jan. 1 at 4:20 a.m.

While baby Ezra Silva came into the world a little past his due date, he was the first baby of 2022 in Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

His mother, Jessica Aivaliotis gave birth to Ezra, a nine pound seven ounce baby at 4:20 a.m. on Jan. 1.

“We were over the moon,’ said Aivaliotis of her and her husband Kyle Silva seeing their newborn for the first time.  The couple also has a nine-year-old daughter named Ayiana and a two year old son named Luca.

The Cambridge native said Ezra is the last baby the couple plans to have. The couple was expecting Ezra roughly four days early on Dec. 26, which would be a whole year on paper.

“I'm very excited for my other two at home to meet him,” said Aivaliotis. “Luca is two years old. He's gonna be a little jelly belly for a bit. Mama's boy.”

Aivaliotis said pregnancy during the pandemic went smoothly as everyone stayed at home and kept safe. She said with the ongoing restrictions, Ezra is going to continue to be smothered with love and attention at home from his siblings at home and grandparents in town.

“I just hope he's happy and healthy. And that's all I could ask for,” said Aivaliotis. “Of course, daddy over here wants him to be a basketball star.”

Aivaliotis said giving birth to Eza in Cambridge Memorial Hospital has been a memorable experience.

“This was probably my best experience. They're very lovely and I finally got my OB to deliver the baby which was nice. The new ward is really, really nice too. So it was a good experience,” said Aivaliotis.
