When the Kitchener Rangers open training camp for the 2024-25 season on Monday, a local player will be joining them.
Forward Ryder Roberson was among the 39 players the team announced as part of their training camp roster.
The camp includes off-ice testing and a pair of games between the players who have been divided into two teams. All games are being held at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium and are free to attend.
Roberson, a 15th round selection in the 2024 Ontario Hockey League Draft out of the Cambridge Hawks U16AAA team, will suit up for Team White.
Following the conclusion of camp on Tuesday, the Rangers will host their Preseason Showcase tournament at The Aud.
They'll open the tournament on Friday at 7 p.m. against the Erie Otters followed by a 6 p.m. game on Saturday versus the defending Memorial Cup champion Saginaw Spirit.
The team hosts its annual FanFest on Sunday prior to a 2:30 p.m. puck drop against the Brantford Bulldogs.
The Rangers open the regular season on Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. when the Otters make their way to Kitchener.
