Cambridge was granted a Jr. B lacrosse franchise back in November.

The Cambridge Highlanders Jr. B lacrosse team will hit the floor for their inaugural season in April.

The Highlanders officially announced their 2023 schedule via their Twitter account on Friday.

It won’t be an easy start for the team as they open the campaign with a seven game road trip, beginning with the season opener on April 22 against the Point Edward Pacers at 7 p.m..

Fans will get their first look at the team at home on May 14 when they play host to the St. Catharines Athletics at Galt Arena Gardens at 4 p.m.

The regular season wraps up on June 18 with a 4 p.m. home game against the Wallaceburg Red Devils.

In all, the team will play 20 games split evenly at home and on the road.

Back in November the Ontario Lacrosse Jr. B council voted to grant the city of Cambridge a franchise for the 2023 season.

“For us, when it comes to lacrosse it’s huge,” Highlanders head coach and general manager Brady Campbell told CambridgeToday at the time of the announcement.

“It’s the first time ever in 16 or 17 years as a minor organization that we've been able to get a junior team in the city.”
