Cambridge's Emma Spence has once again grabbed the attention of people across NCAA gymnastics.
The American Athletic Inc. named Spence a nominee for its AAI Award on Monday.
The award, described as the “Heisman of Gymnastics" in reference to the top college football honour, is presented annually to the most outstanding senior collegiate female gymnast in the United States as voted by NCAA women’s gymnastics head coaches.

Spence has posted career highs of 9.9+ in every event she has competed in, including vault, bars, balance beam and floor. For her career, she's won 40 individual titles.
This past summer, she was named a Team Canada Olympic alternate.
In the classroom, the École Secondaire Catholique Père-René-De-Galinéen graduate has been named a Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association Scholastic All-American three times, is a two-time Big Ten Conference Distinguished Scholar and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection.
She's also been active in the community and in promoting a positive culture in gymnastics, having endorsed the Mental Health Resource Hub and being selected to attend the G7 Summit in Japan in 2023 to collaborate with other gymnasts from around the world about spreading peace in their communities through sport.
