Jonathan Herrington and Matthew Miller are getting ready to embark on the next chapter of their hockey careers.
Herrington is heading to training camp with the Ontario Hockey League's Oshawa Generals. Miller will be travelling down the road to the Royal City to take part in camp with the Guelph Storm.
Both forwards were taken in the 2024 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection thanks to successful seasons with the Cambridge Hawks U16 AAA team.
The Generals selected Herrington in the 10th round, 199th overall, after he put up 10 goals and 17 assists in 32 games. He'll suit up for Team Orr and play in several intersquad games before Oshawa begins their preseason schedule on Aug. 31 in Barrie against the Colts.
Miller posted 19 goals and 19 assist, prompting the Storm to select him in the 10th round, 224th overall. Guelph will also host scrimmages before heading to Brampton to take on the Steelheads to open their preseason schedule on Sept. 1.
Oshawa's regular season opener is on Sept. 27 in Kingston, while Guelph welcomes Owen Sound.
