Unexpectedly, after a brief illness, Florence passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband Robert Adamson and daughter Heather Elizabeth Ann. Loving mother of Brant Adamson and Susan Adamson. She will also be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family and friends.

Florence was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia to William and Evelyn Roach with her eight brothers (Robert (Bob), Gordon (Gordie), George, William (Bill), Burton, Cecil, David, Donald J; four sisters Mary, Olivia, Elsie May, Shirley. She is survived by her brothers Robert "Bob" Roach of Victoria, B.C. and Gordon (Gordie). In her early days she joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Leading Airwoman. She was an avid reader and enjoyed helping others through volunteering at Christopher House and for many years as a tax preparer, she also assisted lower income families with tax preparation. When she was younger, she had aspirations to be a professional singer and in later years sang with the Cambridge Choir at the Durward Centre for 10 years.

She enjoyed day trips to the United States, the casinos, she loved dining out at various restaurants, shopping, playing euchre, bingo and socializing with good friends. Enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk re-runs, game shows such as ‘Wheel of Fortune’ and listening to Keith Urban as one of her favorite singers. She was a very kind hearted, generous and well-educated soul, always helping others if she could but did not "suffer fools". As a Catholic she believed in the word of the Lord, that Jesus Christ was her Saviour and faithfully recited nightly prayers before going to bed.

In accordance with her wishes during these difficult times, a private Funeral Liturgy was said at Barthel Home (519-653-3251) with burial at Mount View Cemetery, Cambridge.

In lieu of flowers, please take an opportunity to show love and compassion to your closest loved ones and others.

Butterfly Delights - Brant Adamson

Awaken from a dream free at last

For the long slumber cocoon with passions ablaze.

Past fears spoken with ancient histories grasped

Nature to lift my soul nestled in her warm rays.

Moments of rebirth so external and fragile

As my wings spread swirling in radiant colors.

My spirit rises far and wide, so agile

pushing, fluttering, tossed into the breeze tickling the flowers.

Delight at my freedoms and watch me play

For in this life shared amongst the endless trails.

Swaying drunk with laughter such splendor soiree

having met my love to share such tales.

Blue skies comfort us both with undeniable pleasures

As we dance together and share this nectar.

So sweet our fate that binds us treasured

Celebration of breathtaking moments, God’s hand our protector.
