AUGUST 5, 1929 – SEPTEMBER 6, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Irondina at the age of 93. Her daughter Esperanca and son-in-law Ken were at her side.

Irondina was one of the early Portuguese women to join their husbands in 1958. She bravely left her entire family, and without knowing the language or the customs, hopped on a plane with her two young daughters.

Together with her husband, she worked hard to build a new life in a new country. Irondina was a quiet woman who was an expert seamstress, making all our own clothes. She also loved to crochet and knit. Irondina showed her love by cooking and baking. She was in her glory when the whole family was together, especially during her favorite season - Christmas.

Irondina is predeceased by her husband John (2017), her parents Antonio and Georgina and her sister Gilda (1995).

Irondina will be greatly missed by he daughters Esperanca (Ken) and Mary, as well as her grandchildren, John (Jennifer), Donald (Cindy), Michael, Ann-Marie (Kyle) and Steven (Aine).

Irondina's great-grandchildren are heart-broken - Hayden (Sarah), Abby (Alex), Evan, Griffin, Graeme, Declan, Audrey, Erin, Connor, Alexander and Harrison.

Her beautiful great-great- grandchildren - Maeve, Mary Ellen and Callahan will miss knowing her and her hugs.

Irondina is survived by two brothers, three sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main St., Cambridge, on Monday evening from 7-9pm. Vigil Prayers will be at 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Church, 210 South St, Cambridge, on Tuesday morning at 11am. Committal to follow at Parklawn Cemetery.
