Theresa Marie Elliott
JUNE 18, 1932 – MAY 12, 2023
Theresa was born on June 18, 1932 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. She was a proud Newfoundlander her entire life, and she visited yearly after moving to Ontario in her early twenties. She was the youngest child of Patrick Boundridge and Maria Josephine Barron. Theresa was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Lar, Mike (Clara), Lena (Jack Sullivan), Maime, Ann (Don Fisher), and Bonnie (Al Kusick). She was also predeceased by two wonderful husbands, Edward Patrick Tracey (1958) and Gerald (Jerry) Brown Elliott (1977). Mourning her loss are her daughter, Darlene (Rick), her son Daryl, and her granddaughters Erika (Julien) and Olivia (Ron), as well as her extended family and many friends in Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador. Theresa was a devout Catholic, and her faith provided her much comfort. Work was a source of pride and she had a long career with the federal government. Theresa valued education and was proud to take university courses in her adult years. She had a love of language and was particular about spelling and grammar. She was always up for a spirited debate. Theresa loved her cats dearly. She also loved to sing, play bridge and euchre, go bowling and cross-country skiing, and she especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Theresa’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at McCormick Home in London, Ontario for their exceptional care in her final years.
Visitation and a celebration of life is planned at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrew’s St., Cambridge (Galt) from 11 a.m. to noon on Sunday, June 18, 2023. Additionally, a service is being planned in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, for August 2024.
