SEPTEMBER 14, 1925 – JANUARY 19, 2022

Lorraine McCulloch passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the age of 96.

Born in Arcola, Saskatchewan, Lorraine moved with her family shortly thereafter to Souris Manitoba until 1944. She attended the Winnipeg General Hospital, School of Nursing where she trained to be an RN, graduating in the class of 1947. Things were busy for nurses at the end of the war, and Lorraine’s brief career took her to St. Paul Minnesota, a clinic in Texas, and several other locations before she was able to move back to Canada, where she married her beloved Nelson in 1950. Together they moved to Galt, Ontario where they settled down and made a happy home.

Lorraine was sociable and loved to be involved in the community. Her family values were strong, and she was sure to leave behind a legacy for her children through the scrapbooks and photo albums she made, and sharing the stories of their family heritage. She was smart and generous, and had a great sense of humour. There was nothing she wouldn’t do to help another person. Lorraine enjoyed cross-stitching and crocheting, and she was a long-time member of the United Church Women. Lorraine will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children Tim McCulloch (Jan), Lois McKellar (Scott), Gord McCulloch (Liz Chaplin), and Tracy McWatters (Paul), grandchildren Tyler (Christine), Cameron, Blake (Devon), Avery (Hugh), and Griffin, nieces Lorie Button (Steve) and Barb McCulloch (Dennis, deceased), and her nephew Alex McCulloch (Val).

She was predeceased by her husband C. Nelson McCulloch (2005), brothers Arch and Eugene Maylott, niece Joan McCulloch, and many more family members and friends. Cremation has taken place, and a graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
