W/O Gerald (“Beaver”) Murphy
Passed away peacefully, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s on Saturday, August 1, 2021 at Riverbend Long Term Care, Cambridge at the age of 83.
He proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces (Army) for 25.5 years. Survived by his wife Gail of 60 wonderful years, daughter Janice (Arlindo), son’s Brad (Bela) and Bruce (Deb). Grandchildren Brandy (Thomas), Jordan (Sarah), Mitchell (Trisha), Dallas, Bryden (Hailie), Joshua, Courtney, Peyton and 5 great-grandchildren. Brother Teny Murphy and sister Trish Martin. Gerald enjoying fishing, hunting, golfing, cooking, playing his mouth organ (Harmonica) and was famous for baking bread.
At Gerald’s request, cremation has taken place.
An Informal Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Coutts Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 1:00-5:00 pm. Social distancing and masks required, be prepared to provide your information for contact tracing purposes. Wearing bright coloured clothing would be appreciated as black was never Gerry's favourite colour. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Veterans Transition Network or Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.
