APRIL 15, 1934 – MARCH 16, 2023
With great sadness, her family announces that Katharina (Katie) passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, March 16, 2023 in her 89th year.
Beloved wife of Simon for 65 years. Loving mother to Wilf and Monica. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister Sophie Jetter and brother John Reschner (Ann).
Gardening was her passion. Many families can boast to having plants from Katie, she peddled her flowers, plants and crafts for more than 60 years. She was a kind and generous person; always dropping off flower bouquets to her neighbours and friends. She also loved animals and tended to travel with handmade catnip toys in her purse and pockets in case she met another cat lover; but the most important thing was spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, Ontario on Monday, March 20th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. There will be a private Funeral Service and burial at Parklawn Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Cambridge and District Humane Society would be appreciated by her family.
