Sister Bridgid Nwosu was born on February 16, 1966, to Cletus and Francisca (nee Akidi) Nwosu in Amizi, Amankwu, Ikwuano, Imo State, Nigeria.

Sister Bridgid was the 5th child of eight and predeceased by Sisters Mary, Gertrude, and Prisca and her brothers, Cyprian, and Emmanuel. She will be greatly missed by brothers Joseph, Michael, and brother Sunny from her Father’s second marriage, 13 nieces and nephews and all her religious Sisters. Sister Bridgid joined the Sisters of Our Lady Immaculate in 1990 at the age of 24 and pronounced her First Vows on October 11, 1993 and her Final Vows on December 7, 1996. In 1994, Sister Bridgid was chosen to be one of three Sisters to open the Community’s first Mission in Port Hood, Nova Scotia caring for seniors in this branch of Marian Residence and teaching the Catholic Faith to youth. Sister remained there until 1998 when she returned to Cambridge and eventually began her studies to become a Registered Nurse and then served in the Community’s apostolate of caring at Marian Residence Retirement Home in Preston. In 2019, Sister Bridgid was assigned to serve in the Community’s Mission Convent in Thorold, On, where she was living until her passing. The Sisters will be receiving friends at Barthel Funeral Home (566 Queenston Rd, Cambridge On, N3H 3J8) (519) 653-3251 on Sunday June 27th from 2-5 pm and 6-9pm. All guests must sign up for a 15-minute time block during which they may attend the visitation. To sign up, click the link provided below the "donations" header below. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 12pm at St Clements Church (745 Duke St, Cambridge, On, N3H 3T7) with the Most Rev. Wayne Lobsinger presiding. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Sisters of Our Lady Immaculate would be appreciated.
