It is with heavy hearts that we announce Hermen’s passing on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Lisaard House in his 89th year. Beloved husband to Genoveva of 56 wonderful years. Loving father to Walter (Roxanne) Pereira, Elizabeth Pereira (Tony Perrotta) and Donny Pereira (Rachael Cordiero). Proud Vavo to his cherished Granddaughters: Nikki Pereira, Alexandria Perrotta, Morgan Pereira, Mackenzie Pereira, Sophia Perrotta and great-granddaughter Rayna Pereira. Dear brother Danial Mederios Pereira and to Maria Adelaide Pereira. Predeceased by his brother Daniel Mederios Pereira. Hermen will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered in the hearts of his extended family and friends, especially dear friends Manuala and Antonio Tavares.
To everyone that knew Hermen, he was one of the most loving and caring men you could ever hope to meet. He especially loved children and was happy to help raise many children outside of his own. He was a wonderful father figure to many cousins, friends, nieces and nephews. The type of man to give the shirt off his back or food off his plate if it meant that it could help someone that needed it more. He was happy to go without, so that others didn’t have to. A humble man that always wore a smile – Hermen didn’t like to focus on negativity but rather always looked for the good in people and every situation.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge (519-621-1650).
As expressions of sympathy, donations made in Hermen's memory may be made to Lisaard House and would be greatly appreciated.
A very special thank you to Lisaard House family. The staff were always so delicate, compassionate and always made us feel welcome and at home. For making sure that Hermen’s last day was beautiful and comfortable – we can’t thank you enough.
