We mark today with heavy hearts as we share the news that our mom, nanny, GiGi, sister, aunt and friend took her last breath on June 25, 2022.

She is predeceased by her parents: Anne and Bill, her much loved husband Jerry, sister Elizabeth and brothers: Georgie, Jim, Mike, Leo, Kevin, Ed and Stan. Left to feel this profound loss are her children: Jerry (Connie) and Pati (Jack), granddaughter Lyndsay (Dean), great-grandsons: John and Hayes, her sisters and brothers: Anne, Jen (Joe), Doreen, George (Janice), Bill, Paul and Wayne (Janet). Dorothy was a loved aunt to countless nieces and nephews.

Mom was one of the “Mill Girls” who bravely left her family in the Battery, Newfoundland to start a new life in Hespeler, where she met and fell in love with a wonderful man, oddly enough from Newfoundland. They built their life and welcomed one and all into it.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 16 Cooper Street, Cambridge. Dorothy will be laid to rest following the Mass at New Hope Cemetery, Cambridge alongside her husband Jerry.

As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
