September 11, 1937 – November 1, 2024
David Edward Strand passed away peacefully on Friday November 1st at the age of 87.
David will be remembered by his children Patricia Strand, Stephanie Strand, Jim Strand and Christopher Strand and by his grandchildren Jaime Lynn, Jordan and Andrew. He will be missed by his sister, Bernice Rae.
David is predeceased by his parents, Ole and Olinda Strand and his sisters, Violet Schafer and Helen Brodland.
David had been retired from teaching since June 1990. His career started in the trades as a qualified Tool and Diemaker, working for Ford Motor Company in Windsor, Ontario. He was recruited into teaching at a time when there was a demand for qualified trade teachers in vocational high school programs. His teaching career was spent at John F. Ross C.V.I (Guelph) where he taught Machine Shop, Auto Shop and Math.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Stirling Heights LTC for their care of David this year.
