Walter, Frederick James (Jim) - Jim died suddenly but peacefully at Alexandra and Marine Hospital in Goderich on November 20, 2022 following a brief illness.

Jim was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on October 7, 1947 and wore his Irish heritage with pride his entire life. An electrician by trade, Jim lived and worked in the Cambridge area for many years before retiring to the Meneset retirement community near Goderich. At Meneset, Jim made many friends and enjoyed golfing, tai chi, and cribbage. He could be found every Friday and Saturday night in the summer enjoying the Scottish Pipe Bands in Goderich and Kincardine. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Isabel Allingham, Isabel’s children Frank, Ian and his wife Kelly, and Diane and her husband Joe, as well as Isabel’s grandchildren. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Richard and his wife Sharon, Robin and her husband Jamie, and grandchildren Claire and her husband Mitch, Adam, Matt, and Emma. Jim will be missed by his and Isabel’s beloved cats, Henri and BJ.

He is remembered fondly by his family in Ballywalter, Northern Ireland. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Alexandra and Marine Hospital for their care during Jim’s illness with particular thanks to Nicole, who comforted Jim during his final moments. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to a local pet charity.

As a proud Irishman, Jim would also appreciate a pint of Guinness or a glass of Irish whiskey raised in his honour.
