Mike Westerdyk born May 6th, 1939 passed away peacefully the age of 83 at his home in Vanessa on July 28, 2022.

Mike was survived by his children Margaret Young (Glenn Renton), Harold (Carol) and Bill (Kathy) and step children Larry Lynk (Kim), Ray, Greg and their mother, Bertha. Mike will also be missed by his sisters Brenda (Klaas Eggen), Pierje, Agnes, his many grandchildren ,great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Also, close to Mike was his cousin Bill (Hilly).

Mike was born in Holland and came to Canada in 1957 at the age of 18. He became a farmhand while staying with his Uncle Andy. There he discovered a love for farming which eventually brought him to Ontario where he met his first wife Donna and started a family, left farming and retired at the age of 62 after a long career of driving truck.

Mike enjoyed his time with his brothers at the IOOF lodge, the Preston Legion #126 and his many friends.

A Celebration of Life for Mike will be held at the Preston Legion, 334 Westminster Dr. N., Cambridge,on Sunday, August 28th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
