Arrest made in alleged pool scam

Waterloo Regional Police have made arrests in connection to a pool scam investigation. 

On Nov. 1, investigators arrested two individuals after receiving reports that several individuals made arrangements to have pools installed, but the work was allegedly never completed. 

Through investigation, police determined that beginning in July 2020, deposits were received for pools that were not installed, and refunds were not provided. 

As a result of the investigation, a 44-year-old male and a 43-year-old female, both from Peterborough, were charged with Defraud the Public and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. 

They are scheduled to appear in court on December 13, 2021.
