Waterloo Regional Police say they have arrested a male after receiving reports of a "weapons incident" in Cambridge on Saturday morning.
Police said at around 7:15 a.m., officers responded to the area of Main Street for a report of a male swinging an axe towards another male.
Police arrived and located the male suspect in the area and arrested him, police said in a news release.
As a result of the investigation, police have charged a 45-year-old male with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
There were no reported physical injuries, police said.
