Police charged both drivers following a Tuesday collision at the Franklin Boulevard and Clyde Road roundabout after police inspected a FedEx transport truck that was struck from behind and found a number of deficiencies.

Investigators charged the 19-year-old Cambridge driver who struck the back of the transport with careless driving.

Waterloo regional police investigators also conducted a commercial motor vehicle inspection on the transport at the scene.

Following that inspection, the driver, a 37-year-old Cambridge man, was charged with driving a commercial motor vehicle with a major defect, failing to complete a daily inspection report forthwith after inspection, and using improper tires.
