Break-in leads to drug, weapons charges

Members of Waterloo Regional Police have arrested and charged a female after investigating a break-in at a residence on Kerr Street in Cambridge. 

On Aug. 10, 2022, at approximately 7:50 a.m., officers responded to reports of a break and enter in progress in the area of Kerr Street and Beverly Street. 

Upon arrival, police located a female suspect on scene. 

Through investigation, police learned that the female was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant. 

Police seized suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and Percocet pills. Police also seized a large sum of Canadian currency, government identification, and various weapons, including a stun gun, pepper spray, and an assortment of knives.

As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old female was charged with numerous criminal offences, including: 

  • Four counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking 
  • Three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Carry concealed weapon
  • Possession of identity documents 

The female was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
