Cambridge male charged with possession of firearm

Waterloo Regional Police have charged a male in possession of a firearm in Cambridge.

On August 6, 2021, at approximately 3:55 p.m., police responded to reports of a male in possession of a firearm in the area of Main Street and Harris Street. Security in the area observed the male point a firearm at an individual, before concealing it and entering a building. 

Upon arrival, officers located the male inside the building and made an arrest. 

As a result of the investigation, a 35-year old Cambridge male has been charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Assault with a Weapon and Pointing a Firearm.

There were no physical injuries reported and the firearm was deemed to be a replica.
