Cambridge teen faces break and enter charges in Kitchener

Police say the accused was one of two people involved in the theft of two vehicles earlier this week

The Waterloo Regional Police Service's Break, Enter and Vehicle Theft team have arrested two individuals.

Sometime overnight on Aug. 16, 2021, a business on Columbia Street West in Waterloo was broken into and two motor vehicles were stolen. 

On Aug. 17, 2021, officers of Central Division and members of the Break, Enter and Vehicle Theft team responded to the area of River Road and Ottawa Street in Kitchener after a concerned citizen reported suspicious activity.

Upon arrival, police located two males near a stolen vehicle.

Further investigation revealed that one of the individuals was allegedly responsible for another break and enter to a business in the area of Ottawa Street North in Kitchener the previous night. 

As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old Cambridge male and a 19-year-old Kitchener male have been charged with break, enter and commit theft, theft of motor vehicle, possession of break-in instruments and possession of stolen property. 

The Waterloo Regional Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation and encourages all concerned members of the public to report suspicious activity to police immediately.
