Collision leaves cyclist with serious injuries

Police say the 40-year-old cyclist struck a stopped vehicle and 'ejected from his bicycle and made contact with another motor vehicle'

On Oct. 9, 2021 at approximately 7:50 p.m., emergency services responded to the intersection of George Street South and St. Andrews Street in Cambridge for reports of a multi-vehicle collision.

Through investigation, police determined that a 40-year-old Cambridge male was riding a bicycle east on St. Andrews Street when he lost control and collided with a stopped motor vehicle on George Street South.

The cyclist was ejected from his bicycle and made contact with another motor vehicle traveling north on George Street South.

The cyclist was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing and charges against the cyclist are pending.
