Cyclist, 16, seriously injured in collision in Kitchener

Police say driver, 70, reported no physical injuries in incident Sunday afternoon

Police are investigating after a teenage cyclist suffered serious injuries in a collision Sunday in Kitchener.

At around 12:50 p.m., emergency services responded to the area of Max Becker Drive and Activa Avenue for reports of a collision involving a Honda motor vehicle and a cyclist, Waterloo Regional Police said in a release.

The cyclist, a 16-year-old male from Kitchener, was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The driver, a 70-year-old Kitchener female, reported no physical injuries.

The investigation is ongoing by the Traffic Services Unit and charges are pending, according to police.
