Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Traffic Unit continue to investigate a fatal collision in Cambridge.
On May 12, 2022, at approximately 11:50 p.m., emergency services responded to the area of Hespeler Road and Sheldon Drive, for a motor vehicle collision.
Through the initial investigation, it was determined that a Hyundai was travelling north on Hespeler Road when the driver drove into the side of a Toyota that was travelling south on Hespeler Road. The Toyota rolled over as a result of the collision.
A 51-year-old Florida male, driver of the Toyota, was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of the collision.
A 30-year-old Pickering male, passenger of the Hyundai, was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of the collision.
A 22-year-old Welland male, driver of the Hyundai, was transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.
The southbound lanes of Hespeler Road have reopened.
The investigation is ongoing by members of our Traffic Services Unit.
