On April 2, 2022, at approximately 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Fischer-Hallman Road and Ottawa Street South in Kitchener for a report of a possible impaired driver.
Officers arrived in the area and arrested the male driver. While in police custody the male began assaulting an officer. The officer was not injured.
As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Cambridge male is facing the following charges:
- Impaired driving
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Two counts of assault peace officer
The male was held for a bail hearing.
