Kitchener resident charged with uttering threats toward Prime Minister

On Aug. 31, 2021, Waterloo Regional Police began an investigation into alleged threats made toward Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during a campaign stop in Cambridge.

Prime Minister Trudeau was in the area of 20 Lindsay Road in Cambridge on Aug. 29, 2021 when the alleged threats occurred.

After viewing video of the event, speaking to witnesses, and receiving information provided by the RCMP, Waterloo Regional Police launched an investigation.

As a result, police have arrested a 32-year-old Kitchener resident. He has been charged with two counts of uttering threats.
