Police investigating two convenience store robberies locally

The robberies happened on Friday evening and police have not confirmed if the same individual was involved in both robberies

Waterloo Region Police are investigating two convenience store robberies that occurred in Cambridge. 

On March 4, 2022, at approximately 7:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at a store in the area of Cedar Street and Berkley Road. 

An unknown male entered the store and demanded money from the store employee while brandishing a knife. The male fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. 

At approximately 8:10 p.m., police responded to another report of a robbery at a store in the area of Cambridge Street and Bond Street. 

An unknown male entered the store and demanded cash while brandishing a knife. The male was chased out of the store by an employee, and police were called. 

In the robbery on Cedar Street, the suspect was described as a white male, 40 to 60 years old, and was last seen wearing a brown/green jacket, work boots, gloves and a blue mask. 

In the robbery on Cambridge Street, the suspect was described as a white male, in his 30s, around five-foot, six inches tall, with a heavy build. The male was last seen wearing black pants, a black baseball hat and a multi-coloured bandana covering his face. 

Both investigations are ongoing.
